Hello, I am Venkata Virajit Garbhapu, a.k.a. Viru.
Technology has been driving me crazy ever since my childhood. I still remember the day I was unplugging the magical box (90’s telephone), and curiously searching for the other person on the telephone line. Yeah, for me, it’s always been a magic box. My passion for telecommunications grew with me.
Currently, I am working as a Fully Funded Ph.D. student under the supervision of Prof. Cedric Ware and Mounia Lourdiane on the topic of Impairment Aware Optical Network Planning at Télécom Paris, Institut Polytechnique de Paris.
Prior to this, I have been a CIFRE Ph.D. student with Huawei Paris Research Center in the Optical Networking team led by Dr. Yvan Pointurier. I have worked on Developing strategies to allocate per-channel powers for reliable margin-aware optical networks to maximize the capacity.
More about my research interests can be found here.
As a part of my Ph.D. I assist in teaching activities at Télécom Paris.
In addition, I lead the IEEE Student Chapter at the Télécom Paris.
